A homage to Burgess’s 1962 novel and Kubrick’s screenplay “A Clockwork Orange” interpreting their concept of uniforms, costuming and masking. This series presents a narrative that delves into the controversy of perversion and artistic expression, glorifying violence with disorienting elegance. It introduces a twist in both storyline and character, exploring the duality at the core of the human construct: the animal versus the moral being, beauty versus unspeakable horror. The Ludovico Technique suggests a tragic attempt to resolve these conflicts, aiming to cure mischievousness by suppressing and denying the less respectable human traits. This approach strives for moral functioning, albeit a deluded and invented purity. In the self-portraits, Ekka Schoch embodies different characters through body language, objects and fashion featuring unusual designs and artists.
